51hoWkXR1tL._SX398_BO1,204,203,200_THIS BOOK isn’t new; it was first published in 2009. But I’ve just found it, and I’m in love with it! If you (like me) are the kind of person who needs a little direction and inspiration to get creative everyday, The Crafter’s Devotional is for you. With 365 days of tips, tricks, and techniques for unlocking your creative spirit, you simply cannot go wrong.  Barbara R. Call has made each entry (for fifty-two weeks of six entries per week) a little blossom of potential, encouraging your creativity to bloom.
Some of the entries are simple, like opening a new box of crayons and coloring to your heart’s content, and some require things from your craft stash, like beads or paper. There are even profiles of artists that give you goals and ideas to strive for, inspiring your creative juices to flow.
The week is broken down into categories so that you have some continuity in your creativity. On Monday, the focus is on journaling; Tuesday, recycle, reuse, or revive; Wednesday, collection, stash, and materials; Thursday, personal history; Friday, non-craft inspiration; and Saturday/Sunday, collaborate, gather, and experiment. There’s a wealth of information and inspiration and you will find  paper crafts, textiles, fiber, mixed media and beading. Additionally, you’ll find miscellaneous bits, artistic rituals, quotes, techniques, exercises, brainstorming prompts, and more.
From the great outdoors to household trash, this little gem will give you ways to jump start your creative energy and keep it going full throttle from the first day to the last. Sometimes my fingers itch to create, but my well’s run dry of ideas. If you suffer from crafter’s block, you’ll find more than enough prompts to get you going again.
I give The Crafter’s Devotional an A+. I’m enjoying using it, and I hope you’ll give this marvelous book a look, too.
