Why You Need Your Own App and How to Make One
You need an app.
There are a couple of reasons to make an app. I made mine so that I can easily get to my blog from my desktop (and so you can, too). Do either of these reasons resonate with you?
1.To promote an existing business.
If you have a business you want to showcase, the fastest way to get it done is to hire an app company to do it for you.
But you can do it yourself for free!
That’s what I did. I researched several app builders online and chose appsme, which made my app for free and was really easy to use. Some of the other builders I tried were difficult to follow. Appsme made it easy.
2. To make money from it.
You can make money from an app. To develop an app that is world-worthy, you may need to pay for a developer. Decide what you want your app to do, and avoid place-specific (or country-specific) or seasonal applications. If you’re going to spend your hard-earned cash, you are going to want to maximize your revenue, so start small. Educational apps are popular, and you can research what sells simply by visiting an app store. There are some app-builders that allow you to monetize your app, so consider them if you don’t want to spend the money to hire a developer.
What platform will you use for your app?
The Android and iPhone/iPad platforms are both popular, but they use different languages. That means you need a different app for each one. If you are only going to choose one, choose the one that coordinates with your own phone unless your goal is to make money. If it is, choose iPhone. That’s because it is a bit more difficult to get downloads and revenue from Android. However, if you want to promote a business, Android may be the better choice. Android takes their apps live about half an hour after you submit it.
Want to make an app for free?
I made mine with appsme.com. I tried several other app builders first, but had problems getting some of the sites to work properly. (I figured if they couldn’t make their own sites work on my phone, what chance did I have that they would get my app right?) However, here are a few others you can try. Maybe you’ll have more luck than I did: appsbar.com, appypie.com, mobincube.com, buildfire.com, and createmyfreeapp.com.
