Play God Day—No, It’s Not Blasphemy!
WHAT IF YOU COULD PLAY GOD for a day? What would you do? Stop wars? Feed the hungry? Put the fatherless in families? Did you know that God does all those things?
Perhaps it doesn’t seem that way, because there are “wars and rumors of wars.” (Matthew 24:6) The Bible clearly says that these things must come, but the end is not yet. Psalm 10:18 tells us that God will “vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, so that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror.” Wouldn’t it be great to have no more terror or oppression? It will happen, beloved, when the Lord returns.
But today, while we wait for His sudden appearing, you can “play God” for a little while. How? By acting in accordance with God’s character. He is kind, loving, compassionate, and long-suffering. We can be those things, too.
I recently read a post that was entitled 60 Selfless Ways to Pay It Forward. Paying it forward is just another way of playing God. You decide to do the right thing, regardless of the consequences or cost. God always does the right thing, because He is the “right thing.” He cannot do wrong, can make no mistakes, cannot lie.
Of course, we can’t actually take God’s place. We do the wrong thing, make mistakes, and yes, even lie. (Sad face here.) But for one moment, one action, one thought, we can be like God. We can choose kindness, love, compassion and patience.
So do you want some ideas on how to “play God” for today? Here are some website that will help you find ways to pay it forward. Have fun!
